May - Newsletter 23.3

Dear Parents/Carers,

PTA Jubilee Summer Fair

Our PTA Summer Fair is on Saturday 19th May from 12:00 – 2:30pm and we really hope you’ll all be there to join in the fun. There will be games, stalls, refreshments, competitions and much, much more.

Thank you very much for the fantastic support with our first non-uniform day. Our next two are as follows:

Friday 11th May – children’s tombola prizes

Friday 18th May – Chocolate or Cakes (children in Year 5 will be in Scarborough on this day, you’re very welcome to bring in some extra chocolate on the 18th if you’d like to!)

We still need more helpers, if you are available please contact Bev Sangster on 07967 823526, email bev.sangster@ntlworld.com or return your slip to school. Thank you!

Please keep on selling your raffle tickets and return the money and stubs to us in a named envelope when they are sold (by 15th May at the latest) – thank you!

There are details of two Jubilee themed PTA Summer Fair competitions on the back of this newsletter: a cake competition for children and parents and a jubilee stamp competition – good luck!

Next PTA meeting – Monday 14th May at 7:30 – 8:30pm – everyone welcome!

Jubilee Celebrations

We will be celebrating the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee in school on Friday 25th May. As part of these celebrations all the children are invited to have a Jubilee School Dinner at our ‘street party’. There is a menu with a slip attached if your child normally has packed lunch and you would like them to have a school dinner on this day – please reply by Thursday 17th May. The school dinner service are also running a competition and details are attached. Children eating packed lunches will, of course, also be joining in with the celebrations! We have a few other treats in store for this day, but we don’t want to spoil the surprise for the children so you’ll have to wait and see!

As the extra bank holiday for the Jubilee is during the half term holidays, schools have been given an extra day holiday which we are taking on Friday July 24th – meaning we break up a day early for summer!

Football Kit – after a successful season Mr Toyne is now trying to get back all of our school football kit – please bring in any kit that you have at home. Thank you!

Bike/Scooter to School Fortnight is going very well and we have amassed an amazing 1161 kilometers so far. With two more days to go I am sure we can reach our target of 1382km to get to the finish line in London.

Thank you to everyone who has sent in Sainsburys and Tescos vouchers – it is almost time to count and send these off so if you have any more at home please send them in ASAP – thanks again!

We aim to be approachable and work in partnership with parents, so if there is anything you wish to discuss, please do not hesitate to come and talk to us.

Yours sincerely,
